Downtown Burien,
Washington is the focus for several celebrations and festive
events in a town square which contains performance spaces, artisan-crafted
10-foot tall wood burning stoves and a collection of sculptural
works that include 30-foot tall metal giants. Many of these photos
were time exposures taken during the events in the summer and
fall of 2009 hosted by Burien Interim Arts Space (BIAS).
This photograph
resulted from zooming in on a lit pumpkin that was perforated
with small holes. I used a long exposure and a hand-held digital
camera.
